Meet Lori
I grew up immersed in real estate. My family relocated nine times before I was in ninth grade, eventually settling on Mercer Island. My mom, Lou, who I work with today selling real estate, made sure that no matter where we were we moved we had the best of the best. In a time before the Internet, I watched her navigate each community we lived in effortlessly to make sure that we attended the top schools, had reputable doctors, lived in a supportive neighborhood and overall just felt like we were a meaningful part of that community.
I was always interested in real estate but it wasn’t until after I graduated from the University of Oregon that I became involved in the industry I had grown to know so well. My first job out of college was with John L. Scott where I eagerly put my recent degree in advertising and journalism to work in the advertising department at the corporate office.
The three years that I worked in advertising allowed me to establish strong one-on-one relationships with brokers and builders and truly understand both sides of the industry. After several years working at a corporate level, I decided that my passion was in the sales side of the industry and I became licensed and started working at the John L. Scott Bellevue-Main office. My time there helped me become an expert in contracts and negotiations.
In 1991, after the birth of my first child, Connor, I transferred to the Mercer Island John L. Scott office and formed a partnership with my mother, Lou, to form The Lou and Lori Team. Our business model is based entirely on knowledge, honesty, trust and hard work. I believe these characteristics have truly helped our team flourish for the past 25+ years!
Lou and I sold real estate together until 2018, when my son Connor joined our team, making it a third-generation family business!
Mercer Island
In the southern waters of beautiful Lake Washington sits Mercer Island. Those of us lucky enough to live here enjoy the easy access to Seattle and Bellevue and all the food and culture and shopping they offer as well as the natural beauty that surrounds us. Mercer Island is considered by many to be the premier residential community to live in in Seattle Metro area. Many Mercer Island homeowners have use of either Mount Rainier to the south, Bellevue in the cascades to the east, or Seattle and the gorgeous Olympic mountains to the west. Many of our parks take advantage of these views as well as the waters of Lake Washington. We've got boating, fishing, swimming in the summer—you name it. Families choose to live on Mercer Island so they can send their kids to our top notch schools. Mercer Island High School is well regarded throughout the Pacific Northwest for the number of its graduates who are accepted to top universities. Residents who don't have school aged children still benefit from this reputation because it keeps their property values at a good level.
